How to Fix Problem - Cursor spontaneously jumping to random text location when typing.?

Cursor spontaneously jumping to random text location when typing.

This is maddening.
My cursor is randomly jumping to a random location in Windows 7 whenever I am typing...
I wind up having to locate where it has jumpted when my expected location is no longer typing my text, back out the unwanted text in the random location,
return to my expected location and continue typing.

This occurs CONSTANTLY...
and it doesn't matter if it is Word, Notepad, or a WebForm textbox.

(FYI, it is not the laptop mousepad.
I have experimented with raising palms high above the keyboard to see if it still occurs.
Although an uncomfortable test, I was able to clearly rule out this as the source of the problem...
it occurs even when I am nowhere
near the pad.)
